A College of Spirits and Warfare
By Jason Borrego
Secrets have been buried in the Chapman family for over a thousand years, but when Ray receives an invite to a College he never applied, it blows the lid off everything he thought he knew.
For Ray Chapman believing in the impossible is just the beginning. On his first day at what he thought would be a typical College; Ray discovers his blood swells in a deep supernatural ancestry. Surrounded by edged weapons, strange occurrences, and ghost like spirits, the supernatural Institution is nothing short of a dream. Yet, the rigorous training is magnified by the standard set by his legendary father—a man he once deemed a simple preacher.
Ray can’t make the grade. He can’t get the girl. Yet, he can’t quit. When Ray finds out his father is in grave danger, he fights his deep shortcomings and focuses on becoming a soldier of worth. When Ray befriends Aerial, a book loving know-it-all and Matthew an arrogant prince, his desire becomes ensnared with his need for companionship. Their fairytale friendship is bliss at first, but when Matthew begins to suspect Ray’s aspiration for Aerial, the relationship suffers. Still, following the breadcrumb clues, Ray stumbles upon a conspiracy years in the making. A betrayal spawned in blood, ruled by an ancient evil, and intended to seize the very Kingdom from Matthew.
Soon Ray finds himself tangled in a fatal web of betrayal between frightened friends and a father in peril. As Ray forsakes the notion of finishing training, he becomes the number one target. To keep his promise to aiding his father across the wastelands, he must first deal with the enemy close to home.
